L'Ecole No. 41
L’Ecole N° 41 is a third-generation family-owned, artisan winery located in the historic Frenchtown School depicted on our label. Founded in 1983, we were the third winery established in the Walla Walla Valley. We have become one of the most prominent and visible Walla Walla Valley wineries with national and international distribution.
Our focus is to produce ultra-premium, distinctive wines that reflect the unmistakable typicity of Washington State and the unique terroir of our Walla Walla Valley vineyards. We are engaged in growing and making 100% of our wine. Each bottle is handcrafted with a commitment to quality in the vineyards and the winery. More than three decades of winemaking experience, ongoing investments in our Walla Walla Estate Ferguson and Seven Hills Vineyards, and long-term relationships with many of the most prominent vineyards in Washington State are central to our well-known reputation for quality and consistency across our wine portfolio.
Toil
Perhaps the biggest challenge in creating Toil is producing a wine that is the same level of quality that has been produced at Leonetti Cellar for 40 years. It requires new learning, infinite patience, dedicated diligence, and a willingness to consistently toil in pursuit of perfection.
For many years, Chris Figgins has been enjoying Pinot Noir from around the world. He fell in love with how this varietal, especially from Willamette Valley, is a perfect complement to the dense, dark, masculine wines we produce here in the Walla Walla Valley. At its finest, Pinot Noir has such a lovely delicacy, perfume, and levity that it was just impossible for me not to try my hand at creating it.
Toil Oregon was created to acknowledge the Figgins family legacy and commitment to continue to bring you the finest of its efforts. Chris relentlessly strives to honor the trailblazers of the Willamette Valley and to add to their legacy in the same way newcomers to the Walla Walla Valley honor his father.
Force Majeure
Force Majeure is an ultra-premium winery located in the Walla Walla Valley, specializing in estate-grown, single-vineyard Bordeaux and Rhône-inspired wines. Our wines are meticulously crafted by former Bryant Family Vineyard Winemaker, Todd Alexander. From its inception, Force Majeure has been defined by unwavering commitment to outstanding viticulture and exemplary winemaking. Our original estate vineyard is located in the famous Red Mountain AVA and we have added two new vineyard sites over the past couple of years in the Walla Walla Valley. Our estate vineyards are painstakingly farmed by a stellar team.
“Force Majeure” describes the relentless, powerful elements of Nature that form the terroir of our vineyard. It also identifies the “unstoppable force” initiated when the highest level of viticulture is combined with the highest level of winemaking talent. Our wines are produced in small quantities and are available via mailing list, as well as through a few select retailers and finer restaurants. We proudly continue the tradition and pursuit of producing top-quality, hand-crafted wines that are true and ultimate expressions of their terroir.
